Fault Detection and Localization in Active Distribution Networks Using Optimally Placed Phasor Measurements Units

چکیده
This paper introduces an algorithm able to detect and localize the occurrence of a fault in Active Distribution Network, using measurements collected by Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs). First, basic that works under assumption all grid buses are equipped with PMU is designed. Then, formal observability conditions allow detection localization reduced number PMUs provided. Based on these conditions, extended perform correctly when not network monitored. Moreover, Optimal Positioning Algorithm, always based allows user customize resolution. The approach validated through simulations carried out benchmark active distribution network.
